Documentary to watch: Hedi Slimane ‘ My Life ‘
My amazing friend tried to surprise me with a greasy takeout and a German documentary about Hedi Slimane, called ‘ My life ‘- She thought I never saw it.
Note: Being friends with me doesn’t take much! Salty, greasy, junk food and anything involving Hedi Slimane will do the trick!
Anyway, Hedi Slimanes ‘ My life ‘ is by far my most watched and most loved documentary of all time. Not only because it has my ex-boyfriend starring in it (for brief 5 seconds!), but because it portrays Hedi not as this mythical figure, but as a really shy and introverted man, who tries to create Fashion not only as the garment you put on but as something that really represents your personality.
I love how thoughtful he is with picking his models (according to my source, Hedi was very strict about his models being only exclusive Dior Homme boys for at least three years), the music and everything surrounding a Fashion show.
He is one of the few, who understands the strength and beauty of youth and who knows how to embrace clothes with this very strong force. Not only do I admire Hedi’s designs, but his aesthetics seem to perfectly reflect my taste towards the arts.
Plus, we do share the same taste in men….
